WHO PUT TOO MUCH BRANDY IN THE BRANDY BUTTER?

This is a tad bit late but here is a photographic journal of my Christmas in the village of East Hoathly. It started with a song service at the village church followed by a full on Christmas lunch. The menu - smoked salmon with creme fraiche, roasted vegetables, roast turkey, Christmas pudding (which we lit on fire of course) with a side of brandy butter. Guess who made the brandy butter! Apparently it was a bit heavy on the brandy...Here's some advice - Don't put the American who has never tasted brandy butter before in charge of making the brandy butter. (Everyone's faces were very read after dessert...Including the kids. Eep!) Everyone then retired to the sitting room to read by the fire place (or nap). We had a prompt tea time of 5pm where we lit the candles on the tree (you heard me) and opened gifts! To end the evening, everyone broke out into an impromptu and very spirited caroling.

There you have it. Christmas in an English village!
